As part of the three-day ICON (ICFAI Conference of Nations 2017) that was held at the university’s campus in Dontanpally recently, experts deliberated on fostering global citizenships for students.

In this regard, Tadepalli Venkata Bhaskar, General Counsel and HOD Law, GVK Group of Companies shared his experiences on the significance of such events in a student’s overall development that aims to foster global citizenship.

Bhaskar insisted that for a law student it is important to possess certain qualities in order to protect the rights of individuals and the ability to fight for the rights if violated. He elaborated on the importance of skills and arguments for a lawyer to be proficient in their career.

Further, he appreciated the prominent role of ICFAI in encouraging students and providing them a platform to exhibit their skills.

Initially in his welcome address Prof AV Narsimha Rao, dean,ICFAI Law School, spoke about the importance of conducting the event and the prominent role played by the students towards ICON.

He also highlighted the relevance of adding the Indian Lok Sabha as one of the committees in the ICON thereby making ICON a “global” event.

Other dignitaries present at the event were Prof YR Haragopal Reddy and Prof V Hemalatha Devi, Prof Madhuri Irene, faculty coordinator of ICON-2017, Secretary General Shravya Reddy, Student of ILS, students and faculty members of ICFAI University.
