Amidst a huge round of applause, two innovative duets of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, by Gautami and Achuta Manasa, followed by Odissi and Mohiniattam, by Gullapudi Raman Kumari and Mythili Anoop, were presented.

While seeking to showcase the rich diversity of Indian classical dance traditions, the event also provided for each style to showcase its inherent uniqueness – in movement, music, and costume.

The solos in Odissi, Bharatanatyam, and Kathak were presented by Raman Kumari Gullapudi, Gautami, and Achuta Manasa, respectively and brought to the fore the inherent strengths and exclusive beauty of these dance forms.

The final piece was “Tarana’, in which all the artistes came together on the stage and showcased without an iota of doubt that the confluence, rather than a single dance form, has the potential to emerge as a new dance form and to receive spirited admiration, long spells of claps, and multiple standing ovations of the dance lovers.
