Karimnagar: ‘Karimnagar district is forward in all fields except education. The district came second after Mahbubnagar in SSC results last year with pass percentage of only 86. But this year the officials should focus to get 100 per cent results in the ensuing SSC board examinations to keep the district on number one position in the State,’ said District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.

He attended as a chief guest at ‘Saraswathi Prasadam’ programme held at Old high school for SSC students here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that in the name of ‘Saraswathi Prasadam’ snacks were provided to the students, who attend special classes both in early morning and late in the evening hours other than schools timings along with appointing special officers.

The students must concentrate on studies with full determination and must achieve 10/10 GPA marks in all subjects by attending the special classes regularly. The students, who secure 10 GPA marks in the SSC board examinations will be felicitated in the presence of Minister, MP, MLA and MLCs, he assured.

City Mayor Ravinder Singh said that SSC is the first step for the bright future of students and must cross it with flying colours with better results.

Many poor people, who studied in government schools, reached greater heights in their lives and became IAS and IPS officers.

He quoted Abdul Kalam, the paper boy who became the President of India and chaiwala Narendra Modi who became the Prime Minister. Students should take inspiration from them, must focus only on studies and must pass in the examinations by securing good marks, the Mayor advised.

City Municipal Commissioner Shashank, District Education Officer Rajiv, Mandal Education Officer Chukka Reddy, Tahsildar Vijaya Chander Reddy were present along with others.
