​Hanamkonda: The State government has sanctioned Rs 21 crore to develop infrastructure in government schools in Warangal city, informed Warangal (West) MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar.

Of the Rs 21 crores, Rs 7.04 crores were allocated to the schools in Warangal (West) assembly constituency. The funds would be used to construct additional class rooms, latrines, compound walls and to ensure supply of safe drinking water, he said.

The MLA has on Monday reviewed the progress of development works in the constituency at a programme ‘Mana Badi-Mana Badhyatha’ at Government High School at New Shayampet in Hanamkonda. The headmasters of the schools in the constituency attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Bhasker he asked the teachers and headmasters to make efforts to achieve 100 per cent results and maintain high level of academic standards.

The teachers and parents of the students should become part of ‘Mana Badi-Mana Badhyatha’ to protect government schools.

The government was committed to develop State-run schools on par with private and corporate schools. As part of which digital class rooms and English medium being introduced at government schools and was improving infrastructure, the MLA said.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan executive engineer Ravinder Rao gave the details of funds allocated to 48 schools in Warangal (West) constituency towards infrastructure development. Noted educationist Boora Vidyasagar Goud, mandal education officer Veerabhadru Naik and local corporators were present.

Shivaratri poster released
Earlier on the day, MLA Vinay Bhasker has released publicity poster of Maha Shivaratri Festival of historical Thousand Pillar Temple in Hanamkonda. The festivities would take place from February 23 to 27, informed the temple main priest G Upendra Sharma.

The priest said that ‘Rudrabhishekam' would be held at 4 am on 'Maha Shivaratri' day (February 24) and Rudreshwara Swamy's 'Kalyana Mahostavam' would be conducted at 6.40 pm on the same day. Mahanyasa Purvaka Maharudrabhishekam would be performed on February 27 besides several other rituals.

According to Upendra Sharma nearly 10 lakh devotees would take part in the celebrations.MLA Vinay Bhasker said that under the aegis of Telangana cultural department arrangements like drinking water supply, police security, decoration with colourful lighting and sanitation at 10, 000 temples in the State.
