The daily wage labourers, especially the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) workers are finding it difficult to carry on with their work under the blazing heat.

There are no tents or shamianas under which they could take rest. Unable to work under the scorching Sun, many of them have fainted due to dehydration and are suffering from sun-strokes. Others have fallen sick.

The heat wave has taken a toll on the business activities of the small traders who are incurring heavy losses.
