Ghanpur (Bhupalpally): Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy has warned AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, who stirred up a controversy stating that Telangana police hosted a fake website luring Muslim youth towards ISIS, of legal action if he fails to tender an unconditional apology for his remarks. He said that Congress appears to be frustrated unable to digest the TRS government’s success.
He along with Speaker Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary, Minister Ajmeera Chandulal and DGP Anurag Sharma was here at the inauguration of a new building for Ghanpur police station on Tuesday.
Reddy said that Telangana police have a proven track record and are the best in the country, referring to the appreciation they got from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
“The police have come out with a slew of smart policing initiatives besides gaining tech edge in detecting crime,” Reddy said, asserting that government was committed to strengthen the department further by providing infrastructure and adequate staff.
The Speaker said that Mylaram village under Ghanpur mandal will be developed as an education hub. “Law and order is one of the key issues that augment development,” Chandulal said, heaping praise on police. The DGP said: “Since the formation of Telangana State, the government has been keen to strengthen the police department.”
The Speaker and the Minister also inaugurated Rapid Cop Command and Control Centre in the police station. Warangal MP P Dayakar, ZP Chairperson G Padma, District Collector A Murali, Additional DGP Anjan Kumar, Police Housing Society chairman Damodar, North Zone IG Nagi Reddy and Bhupalpally SP R Bhaskaran were among others present.
