The three day celebrations of Telangana State Formation Day began on a grand note on the first day, here in Karimnagar on Thursday with the district officials taking all necessary steps required along with making elaborate arrangements for conducting various programmes and decorating various government buildings with paintings and twinkling lights.

District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed and City Mayor Ravinder Singh began the celebrations by inaugurating 5K Run at Ambedkar Stadium at 6 am on the day. Youth and children along with people of various sections participated in 5K Run held from Ambedkar Stadium to Circus grounds.
As part of the State Formation Day celebrations, BC welfare department conducted rangoli competitions at Ambedkar Stadium at 9 am, in which several women actively participated to show their artistic skills.
Finance Minister Eatala Rajender accompanied with Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, MLC Naradasu Lakhsman Rao and City Mayor Ravinder Singh, had visited Ambedkar Stadium and observed rangoli designs made by women.
Later, the Minister inaugurated blood donation camp at Government Main Hospital marking State Formation Day celebrations. He appreciated the donors for coming forward to donate blood and for participating actively in the blood donation camp.
Later, he released the poster of 'KCR Kit', which describes 15 different items required for the new born baby, which would be distributed to the beneficiaries from June 3.
District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed inspected the arrangements at Police Parade Ggrounds and ordered the officials to make tight security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents on the occasion of the State Formation Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the celebrations had begun on a grand note in Karimnagar district from the early hours with 5K Run and other programmes.
All the arrangements were made perfectly to celebrate the day, which will begin with Finance Minister Eatala Rajender paying tributes to Telangana Martyrs and to the Statue of Prof Jaya Shankar and hoisting the flag at Police Parade Grounds.
He urged the people to participate in large numbers to celebrate the formation Day successfully in the district.
City Commissioner Shashank, Rural Development Officer Raja Goud, Deputy Director of Information Department Venkateshwar Rao and Assistant Commissioner of Police Rama Rao were present during the inspection at Police parade grounds.
