Mulug Zilla Sadhana Samithi president M Bikshapathi has lodged a police complaint against Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal here on Thursday, alleging threat to his life from the Minister.
Mulug (Bhupalpally): Mulug Zilla Sadhana Samithi president M Bikshapathi has lodged a police complaint against Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal here on Thursday, alleging threat to his life from the Minister.
The Samithi leader in a complaint to Mulug police Circle Inspector stated that the Minister during a telephonic conversation on June 26 has threatened to kill him. He said he had called the Minister to stress on the demand of creation of Mulug district, for which the Samithi has been fighting for three years.
‘But the Minister, Chandulal, without giving me the chance to speak had started abusing me in foul language, saying that it won’t take a minute to kill me.
He also cautioned me for making statements against him and for fighting for the district,’ Bikshapathi said.In the police station, the Samithi leader also said that on June 27, a follower of Chandulal and the TRS Mulug mandal president Gattu Mahender has called him over phone and threatened to see his end for speaking against the Minister.
Bikshapathi also maintained that during the course of agitations for Mulug district, Minister Chandulal had in the past threatened him several times of serious consequences for fighting for Sammakka Sarakka district with Mulug as its headquarters.
“Chandulal is responsible if any harm occurs to my life or to the lives of my family members. The State government should provide security to me by appointing two gunmen,” he demanded. He said the copies of the complaint were also sent to the DGP, Bhupalpally SP and Mulug DSP.
Meanwhile, the leaders of Congress, TDP, BJP and Left wing have taken out protest rallies and staged rasta roko at Mulug, condemning the Minister Chandulal’s alleged threat to Bikshapathi.
TDP leader Sitakka speaking to presspersons demanded the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, to suspend the Minister from the State cabinet.
Being a Minister Chandulal had acted in highly objectionable manner by threatening to kill the Zilla Sadhana Samithi leader. Serious agitations would be taken up until action against the Minister is taken, she added.
