Mahabubabad: “Prepare a perfect action plan for distributing Bathukamma saris to women, aged above 18 years and have a ration card,” District Collector Dr Preethi Meena ordered the officials of concerned department.

She chaired a review meeting with the officials of various departments to discuss several issues like distribution of Bathukamma saris, Telanganaku Haritha Haram, Open Defecation Free, here at the Collectorate conference hall on Tuesday. The Collector told the officials to prepare a route map for distributing the saris to about 2,69,513 women, who were selected through 533 ration shops present across the district.

The Bathukamma saris will be kept ready for distribution in the godowns of Mahabubabad and Thorrur agricultural markets by September 15 and should be distributed according to the ration shops in village panchayats and municipal wards, she said.

The teams, with tahsildar as the nodal officer and VRO, VRA, panchayat secretary, IKP women and NREGS staff as the members, saris should be distributed on September 18 and 19 without giving scope for irregularities along with giving wide publicity beforehand in villages and in municipal wards.
