Anyone can be a victim to this disease if proper preventions are not taken. The most important prevention is mosquito control which is possible when the surroundings are hygienic and clean.

Signs and symptons:

The symptoms of cChikungunya are almost similar to those of dengue fever such as high fever, tiredness, headache, joint and body pains, ulcers in mouth, vomiting, sleeplessness and rashes on body. It can be after 10 days you are infected that these symptoms begin to surface. And in some cases these symptoms are not seen.

Treatments:

There is no exact cure for Chikungunya . But it is believed that once you are infected by the gunya virus your body develops an immunity towards it and you will not be getting it again.

But if the symptoms have been observed beforehand, treatment against those symptoms would cure the disease. Therefore it is important to go to the doctor if you feel you might have any of the symptoms mentioned above. Extra care should be taken during monsoon.
