Noted diabtelogist Dr S Ramabrahmam on Saturday said that the early detection of diabetes would make life comfortable with regular medicare. Speaking at a health education programme at Vasavya Nursing Home, Dr Ramabrahmam wanted the people to approach the doctor in the early stage and get medical care.

“India has a diabetic population of over 4.5 crore. Those in the age group of 40 to 60 years are suffering from Type - 2 diabetes, while children and youth have Type - 1 diabetes. Lack of insulin is the reason for it. Lack of physical exercise and obesity are also attributing reasons. Diabetes leads to health disorders and requires regulating food consumption,” he said. Vasavya Nursing Home chairman and former national president of Indian Medical Association Dr G Samaram was present.
