when examining the healthy quality of the cooking oilks, there are three main things that we want you to look at:

1. Whether it contributes to inflammation

2. The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids

3. How it is processed

Did you know that inflammation is the root cause of disease

The root cause of most diseases including heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, metabolic disease, cancer and many more is inflammation. so try avoiding things that cause it.

But what causes inflammation?

There are many different causes of inflammation, some of the biggest contributors are:

inflammatory foods( sugar, fast food, factory farmed meat, processed food, alcohol etc.)

Stress

Environmental toxins

Oils high in omega 6 fatty acids

Lack of sleep

Chemicals in cleaning products, cosmetics. etc.

Omega -6 fatty acids though they do good to the bodies they equally do bad as Omega 3 and 6 are polyunsaturated fats. they play a key role in the cellular functions of our bodies, When they go out balance, it can lead to a whole host of health problems.

Any thing in excess causes damage to our bodies. Too much Omega -6 fatty acids can cause inflammation, clogged arteries, heart disease and an increased risk of cancer.

As per WHO recommended ratio for Omega-6 to Omega -3 fatty acids is about 4:1.

so, when we look at cooking oils, remember: high omega 6 content is unhealthy and leads to inflammation which contributes to disease.

DOES PROCESSED OILS EFFECT YOUR HEALTH?

Processing can contribute to the unhealthiness of cooking oils in a few ways:

Extraction leads to oxidation as many processed oils are made from seeds or beans that not very easy to extract oils from, so they have to use industrial power like intense heat to extract the oil. The process often leads to oxidization of the oils which create free radicals which are proven to contribute to disease.

chemical solvents and bleaches

Many industrial processed oils use carciogenic chemical solvents like hexane or bleaches to cover the rancid smell or flavor of the oil after it has been extracted.

WORST COOKING OILS NEVER USE THEM:

If you really want to know the background of why these oils below are not healthy why you've been told the wrong information that they ARE healthy make sure you read the information above.

1. GRAPE SEED OIL

I know this one is going to be a big shocker for all. Especially since grapeseed is constantly marketed as such a healthy cooking oil. Well, the health of grapeseed oil is all based on misleading information and mythys about cholesterol and heart health.

Grapeseed oil is about 70% omega -6 fatty acid, as too much omega oil causes inflammation which is the true cause for heart disease and can lead to other problems cancer and autoimmune disorders.

when an oil is oxidized it causes cancer, autoimmune disorders and tyroid damage.

2. CANOLOA OIL

To create canola oil one must take crude oil that has been extracted from rape seeds and refine, bleach and deodrize it. The fact that canoloa is processed under high heat causes it to go rancid, which then creates the need for industrial caricogenic bleaches and deodorizers like hexane.

canola oils are made from omega 3 fatty acids these fatty acids are fragile and subject to oxidation through heating. Studies done on Canola oil consumption in farm oils has shown a negative effect on coronary health unless mitigated by the intake of beneficial saturated fats.

3.SOY BEAN OIL/ VEGETABLE OIL

99% Of Vegetable oils sold in the market are soy bean oil. you can even have a look at the ingredients in a bottle of vegetable oil next time you go to the grocery store.. you'll see one of the ingredient as soy bean oil.

4. MARGARINE OR VEGAN BUTTER SUBSTITUTES

For a long time margarine was a danger because of its high fat content and as it was high in trans fat which contribute to heart disease. However, nowadays people are wise to the dangers of trans fats, so most margarine does contain trans fats, but it's still not a good choice for consumption.

5. CORN OIL:

There is a popular misconception that corn is a vegetable. It is actually a grain. Corn originated and was bred from a tall grass like plant that soemwhat resembled wheat

Corn oil has 58% omega -6 fatty acids, which, like i mentioned above is too high and can lead to inflammation.
