Y New is a novel re-commerce (recovery of electronic products) store in Himayatnagar for lifestyle gadgets in India and has announced its base in the city. The company aims to help people to sell and buy second hand goods (smart phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and televisions) at a fair price. Buyers looking to purchase certified branded products can avail services with a 30-day free service warranty. The products sold at YNew Store are tested and certified by its own in-house team of engineers to validate the condition of the product, which in some cases are as good as new.

“YNew has taken the initiative to create an organised re-commerce marketplace by consolidating seller-buyer efforts while promising peace of mind, unparalleled trust and immense value for all involved. Being a country with vast income disparities lead by an inspi- rational middle class, India is likely to witness a big re-commerce trend in the years to come and YNew is eying to grab the lion’s share of this market,” said Dashradh Ram Nutakki, Founder, YNew. The company does not charge the customer for selling their product. Instead a margin of the selling price is charged as a fee. The company does face certain hiccups.

“I gave my laptop to the company and they assured me that I would get a good price but day after day, the amount of defects found were increasing and ultimately they told me they couldn’t sell it and when insisted upon, sold it for an extremely low price.” said Raghu

Though a few cases like these exist, YNew has genuinely sold goods at a good price and made all the parties involved in the transac- tion, happy. Admits a spokesperson for the company, “Every company faces negativity. YNew too, is no stranger to it. But the work done by the company has been impeccable and the service it provides is highly regarded. It gives people assurance while buying a sec- ond hand product and also gives them a 30 day warranty period which a person selling online cannot give. It is a company which is more than a buyer and seller; it encompasses a wide network.”

The company aims to expand its operations by franchising by the end of 2013.
