Those who violate traffic rules will have to dig a bigger hole in their pocket as the City Traffic police will implement enhancement of fines for certain traffic violations from August 12.
According to GO 108, the compounding amount has been enhanced in the following offences under Motor Vehicles Act.
As per the new rules the compounding amount for jumping of signals has been enhanced from Rs 400 to 1,000. Therefore, anybody indulging in signal jumping will have to pay fine of Rs1000. At the same time, fine for cell phone driving has been increased from Rs 500 to 1,000.
The compounding amount for overload projection has been enhanced from Rs 200 to 1,000. Therefore, anybody indulging in overload projection on sides and rear of his vehicle has to pay fine amount of Rs1000. Similarly, the persons indulging in unauthorised parking will be fined Rs1000 in place of Rs 200. Hyderabad traffic police appealed to the general public to cooperate in implementing the GO 108.
