GHMC Commissioner inspects parks

After a request by the Members of the Walkers Association of Indira Park, M T Krishna Babu, Commissioner, GHMC along with G Rajkumar, Deputy Mayor, GHMC and Narayana, State President, CPI (M) visited Indira Park on Monday. The association said that the park is one of the largest and best parks in the city and asked the GHMC officials to take up repairs, renovations and maintenance. The commissioner reviewed the ongoing works that are being taken up at Indira Park along with the Additional Commissioner(Biodiversity) and the Director, Urban Forestry.

The developmental works which were reviewed included development of Rose Garden, Palmatum Park, greenery near Children’s play area and purification of water in the lake biologically.

After reviewing Indira Park, the officials also paid a visit to Jalgam Vengala Rao Park where the officials noted down the improvement works. They took special note of improvement works like, improving the ambience of entry plaza, completing the pathway for walkers, improving the lighting system, speeding up tunneling works for sewage water diversion and adding more flowering plants. Also present at the inspection were Siva Parvati, zonal commissioner, central zone, and the staff of engineering & parks wing.
