Exhibition marks World Photography Day

Clickz Photography Association observed World Photography Day on Monday by organising an exhibition of photographs at the State Art Gallery. Abhijeet Duddala, film star inaugurated the exhibition by showcasing the work of 17 photographers of the entire 37 at the event.

Clickz Photography Association, formed just three months back has 45 members. Emmadi Nagaraju, President, Clickz Photography said, “When we were students we found it difficult as there were few avenues to showcase our talent. So we decided to form the association. We are happy that we are able to gather people from various walks of life. Our aim is to support amateur photographers.”

The group consists of members from different professions such as software professionals, teachers, copy writers and students.

An interesting feature of the organisation is that all its members all below the age of 27.

Subba Lakshmi, retired superintendent of the Irrigation Department who was the chief guest announced a photography contest with the theme, ‘Women in an extra ordinary diversity of jobs and businesses’. The competition is open to all and the last date of sending in entries is November 1, 2013. The prize money for first, second and third place is Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 apart from consolation prizes.Photographers can download the entry forms at www.clikz.krative.co.in
