Workshop on ‘Shariah’

The Tahreek Islah-e-Mushaira Committee of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board conducted a workshop on ‘Shariah’ which came to an end on Monday. This workshop focused on the aspect of ‘Shariah’. Prof Jameelunnisa addressed the topic of ‘Shariah’. She said that it encompasses all the aspects of a woman’s life. It explains how a girl could be a successful daughter, mother, sister and wife.

Roquiya Farzana addressed the crowd about the principles of Nikah and said that is equally a man’s responsibility to lead a successful marital life. Subuhi Aziz, General Secretary, All Bengal Muslim Association spoke on the topic of ‘family disputes-causes and solutions’. Shameem Fatima spoke about ‘marital conflicts’ and said that the parents of the bride should keep a healthy distance from her marital life. Prof Rafeeq Unnisa spoke about ‘divorce’.

Dr Asma Zehra, member, All India Muslim Personal Board expressed her view on the ‘issues relating to three divorces’. She said that a divorce is not a solution but Allah has given the right to divorce who has also given the right to take his wife back. But not many people are aware of this. Mohammed Omer Bin Mahfooz Rahmani, member of Muslim Personal law Board, Patna spoke about ‘the protection of women’s rights’. Humera Begum, Member of Muslim Girls Association recited Quranic verses. Zakiya Sultana presented the teachings of the Quran.
