Thousands of Malayalees in the twin cities had a slice of Kerala’s own cultural extravaganza Kerala Kalolsavam 2013 on Sunday as part of their Onam celebrations in Rail Kalarang in Secunderabad. The celebrations were being jointly organized by the Confederation of Andhra Malayali Associations (CAMA) and Thanal Malayali Seva Samiti to mark the biggest festival of God’s Own Country, Kerala.

This is the first ever cultural programme organised by Kerala government’s Cultural Department in Andhra Pradesh. Kerala Minister for Tourism and Culture, K C Joseph, Andhra Pradesh IT minister, Ponnala Laxmiah, senior members of Folklore Academy and Sangeetha Nataka Akademy took part in celebrations.

Around 150 artistes specially flown in from Kerala performed various traditional art forms. mudiyeettu, duff muttu, arabanamuttu, drama were performed, apart from those Kalarippayattu, Folk songs, Kolkkali, Theyyam, Padayani, Mudiyettu, Pulikkali, Charadukuthikkali became other attractions.
