The best part of any live concert is a spontaneous audience and the vibes they will experience from the performers of the stage. It was such a concert filled with many such moments when flutist Ronu Majumder performed with his fusion band ‘Vibration’ at Marigold Hotel, Begumpet on the special occasion of celebration of the spirit of Hyderabad with a 100 days cultural programme named ‘Hydourite’.

The band ‘Vibration’, included Pt Ramdas Palsule on Tabla, Atul Raninga on keyboard, Mukul Dongre on drums/percussions, Rajesh Rajbhat on Pakhawaj along with Pandit Ronu Majumder was a group of musicians with their excellence as they mesmerised the audience with their energetic performance.
They started with one of their old composition which has been created way back in 1992 titled ‘Calcutta Chiaroscuro’ followed by ‘Dancing with the Wind’ a popular musical piece from their album ‘Fusion Yatra’. Though it was a fusion event, on special request from the audience, Pt Ronu played raag Khamaj with his signature banarasi style on a song ‘Vaishnava Jana to’. The best part of their performance was when he sang the song to set the mood before playing it on flute!
It was a very interactive concert as Flutist Ronu recited Urdu Shayari that was complimenting the evening. They spread their musical vibration to all age groups as they performed ‘Playground’ and ‘Bonding’ in Raga Madhuvanti for the children from the album ‘Music for Children’. The band ended their performance with a beautiful musical piece where jazz, blues and raag Jog come together in a composition named ‘Jog Jazz’. Since every music piece was amalgamation of different sounds- acoustic and digital, it could have been simple noise if not well composed; there Pt Ronu Majumder, the composer shared the tricks, “One has to know the pure form of the music whether its classical, folk, jazz, blues, rock- any pure form that is fused with other form. Or else, it would not be a fusion but confusion music!” he remarked .
