Jhanvi stuns Sahasmita, Shreya in quarters

Jhanvi Reddy created a major upset while whipping top seeded Kotte Sahasmita to the enter the semifinals of the Under-16 girls singles Amway-Nutrilite AP State Ranking Tennis Tournament on Saturday.

It was a close match as it went to the wire with score going to deuce before Jhanvi scrambled home with a 7-0 verdict in the tie-breaker.

Meanwhile, T Shreya was also at her best while trouncing Sahasmita 8-5 to enter the quarterfinals in the Under-16 category.

In the boys Unde-16, Rawal Kanuganti, Tata Hari Chandan, Justice C Ikeh and T Akhilesh Reddy took the semifinal spots.
