Beckham to sign e-books for Hyderabad via FB

Retired soccer superstar David Beckham will simultaneously sign copies of his new photo book in London, New York, São Paulo, and Hyderabad, India. How? While Beckham may have been able to bend it, it’s hardly possible for him to be in four cities at once: He will dish out personalised digital signatures to select fans via a partnership with Facebook.

Beckham announced on his Facebook page that he will host the book-signing event on Facebook at 10 am ET Wednesday, Oct 30, adding that users of the social network can register through Facebook Digital Stadium for the chance to win tickets to the events in London, New York, São Paulo, or Hyderabad, as well as to win the personalised digital signatures.

Facebook Digital Stadium will also present a live feed from the actual signing event, in London, during which UK sports presenter Jake Humphrey will host, and Beckham will participate in a live question-and-answer session.

Beckham said in his Facebook post announcing the event:

I am really excited to announce that on Wednesday, October 30, I will be giving you the chance to take part in a unique event. In partnership with Facebook, I want to do a truly global signing to coincide with the launch of my new book. If you are in London, New York, São Paulo, or Hyderabad, you can enter to win a ticket to take part in these events and receive a personalized digital signature from me via ground-breaking technology. If you’re not in those cities, you won’t be disappointed, as you can take a seat in the Facebook Digital Stadium to watch a live Q&A session where I will answer questions from fans around the world.
