Town planning receives most complaints

The Prajavani Programme, held on Monday received a total 56 grievances of which 42 were new cases and remaining were old. More than 80% of the cases are from the Town Planning Wing. Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC said that there is every need to reduce the complaints pertaining to Town Planning.

He further added that the GHMC is concentrating on road development project. “It is an innovative plan to take up the road repair works. We want to provide the drains, medians and ducts for laying cables footpaths. The matter will come into effect after it is placed before the next Standing Committee meeting to accord sanction.

Once sanctioned, the works would be taken up on priority, as most of the roads are badly damaged and needs immediate repairs. Works worth Rs 250 crore under phase-1 will be taken up after the approval of the Standing Committee.”
