DD head elected as IICC trustee. SM Khan, director general, Doordarshan, has been elected as one of the trustees in the board for India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC).
SM Khan, director general, Doordarshan, has been elected as one of the trustees in the board for India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC). While Sirajuddin Qureshi was elected as president for the third time in a row, Safdar H Khan, chairman, Delhi Minorities Commission, was elected vice-president.
IICC members, who are spread across the country and many other international geographic locations, voted in favour of SM Khan in huge numbers. The IICC cuts across religion and has members that include people from various walks of life. It spreads the message of national unity and communal harmony apart from being a centre of excellence for Islamic art, culture and civilisation. The newly elected body aims to set up branches of India Islamic Cultural Centre in five more states -- Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.
