This would be for the first time that Comic Con India is bringing in an international actor as a special guest. The convention will take place at Bombay Exhibition Centre from December 19-21 between 11 am and 9 pm

Mark Gatiss has had a long and varied career as a writer, producer, director, as well as being a critically acclaimed actor and published author. Mark's great early success on television was as part of the comedy troupe The League of Gentlemen, where he wrote and appeared onscreen. Gatiss is one of the few writers to have written for all four Doctors in the modern television revival of Doctor Who.

Gatiss is also the co-creator and executive producer of Sherlock, the hit BBC series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. In the series he also plays Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes. Sherlock has seen unprecedented success across the globe, with series 3 in the UK billed as the most watched drama on British television in a decade. It also won seven Emmys in 2014.

On attending Mumbai Film and Comic Con 2014, Mark Gatiss says, “Stage Two of World Domination complete! I’m thrilled to be coming to India, a country I’ve always wanted to visit, and I can’t wait to meet all the Doctor Who and Sherlock fans in Mumbai.”

Fans of Sherlock in India will be treated with a special session at MFCC by Gatiss himself. At the session he will talk about his work on global hits Doctor Who and Sherlock and will answer questions from fans about previous seasons and the forthcoming season, which begins filming in 2015. Also, he will sign exclusive posters for the fans at the convention.
