As part of Navy Week Celebrations, the Indian Navy conducted a painting competition for school children of Hyderabad in co-ordination with Jawahar Bal Bhavan at Public Gardens on Tuesday. The competition was held in three categories – Category A (I to IV Standard) Category B (V to VII Standard) and Category C (IX to XII Standard).

‘Sea Scape’, ‘World Peace’, ‘Save Nature’ and ‘Life under the Sea’ were some of the themes given on the spot for the competition. Around 565 children, including 40 special children from 45 schools in Hyderabad, enthusiastically participated in the competition. A drawing and painting kit, participation certificate, motivational literature and a cap were given to all the participants.

Chief Guest Rear Admiral Kalidoss Srinivas, Station Commander (Navy), Hyderabad presented the participation certificate to the special children and boosted their morale. A panel of judges will select the top three paintings in each category for prizes, which will be distributed during a function to be held on December 13.
