Court orders status quo on market committees

A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar on Friday ordered status quo on the termination of market committees in Telangana State.

The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by Gurunath Reddy and other members of various agricultural market committees. The petitioners questioned the order of the state government in terminating the market committees prematurely. The bench granted time to the government to file a counter.
