Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers , Hyderabad Chapter, organised a one-day workshop on “Emerging trends in Processing and Utilisation of Iron ores” in Hyderabad.Inaugurating the Workshop, Narendra Kothari, Chairman cum Managing Director, NMDC Limited, emphasised the need for technology development and research in beneficiation and upgradation of low grade iron ores. Narendra Kumar Nanda, President, IIME Hyderabad Chapter & Director (Technical), NMDC Limited, presided over the function and wanted better utilisation of iron ore by exploring technologies.

Guests of Honour Prof. T C Rao, former Director RRL, Bhopal, Dr Y J Bhaskar Rao, Director, NGRI and P S Parihar, Director, AMD, addressed the gathering. S K Sharma, Vice-President, IIME Hyderabad Chapter & Head, R&D Centre, NMDC Limited, welcomed the guests and informed about Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers, Hyderabad Chapter and its activities. G V Rao, Secretary, IIME Hyderabad Chapter, proposed vote of thanks. The workshop was attended by practicing engineers, scientists, managers, academicians, graduate and post graduate students, research scholars, officials from statutory bodies, equipment suppliers, PSUs and Private industries working in the field of Mineral Engineering.
