The Hyderabad division of the South Central Railway (SCR) conducted a fortress check at Kacheguda Railway Station recently to curb ticketless and irregular travel. Hyderabad Divisional Railway Manager Aruna Singh and the other officers supervised the check.
A total of 488 cases were registered and generated penalties of over Rs 1. 25 lakh. These comprised 222 cases of travelling without ticket, 19 cases of irregular travel, 244 cases of un-booked luggage and three cases of littering.
All the exit points at the railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers from escaping. Eight express trains, 15 passenger trains, 60 MMTS and suburban trains were checked.
