HFC gen sec to be on Fribourg Film Festivals jury
Hyderabad Film Club general secretary Bh SS Prakash Reddy has been invited to be a member of the jury at the 29th International Film Festival of Fribourg-2015, Switzerland, which will be held from March 21 to 28. Since its inception in 1980, Fribourg International Film Festival has been a pioneer in the discovery of independent cinema.
Hyderabad Film Club general secretary Bh SS Prakash Reddy has been invited to be a member of the jury at the 29th International Film Festival of Fribourg-2015, Switzerland, which will be held from March 21 to 28. Since its inception in 1980, Fribourg International Film Festival has been a pioneer in the discovery of independent cinema.
City-based commerce graduate Prakash Reddy’s brush with Film Society Movement to promote a healthy film culture started in 1974 when he joined the Vijayawada Film Society. In 1975, he had joined Hyderabad Film Club (HFC). He was instrumental in organising numerous films festivals, and was the director of the Hyderabad International Film Festivals in 2007 and 2008 and Hyderabad Short and Documentary Film Festival in 2010.
He was also southern zone secretary of Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) from 2002 and general secretary of Children’s Film Society of Andhra Pradesh for several years. He was honoured as an invited guest for the 29th Fajr International Film Festival, Tehran, Iran in 2011.
