Army gets on the nerves of Kowkoor residents
For over a year, Kowkoor residents have been bracing incorrigible roads and open drains. Recently funds were sanctioned for laying tar roads, drainage and other civil works in the area. But as soon as the civic authorities starting tending to the problems, the Army stalled the works saying that clearance was needed to continue the works.

On Sunday, the residents handed over a representation to Malkajigiri MP Ch Malla Reddy and MLA C Kanaka Reddy and raised objections against the Army. Malla Reddy promised to take up the issue with Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday. Meanwhile Kanaka Reddy conducted a padayatra from Kowkoor to Yapral along with local residents and the GHMC against the Army’s move. He promised to take up the issue with the Chief Minister.
