Bharatanatyam practitioners Kiranmayee Madupu and Priya Premanand will be performing a thematic dance on the poem ‘The Porous Earth’ at Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday. The dancers are students of renowned Bharatanatyam guru Hemamalini Arni presented two of her senior students in a dance production. An extract from Tejdeep Kaur Menon’s third anthology ‘Minnamini’, the poem traces the compelling and moving journey of a river from source to sea.

Kiranmayee Madupu has performed at various reputed festivals and venues across India and abroad. She also teaches Bharatanatyam and promotes arts and culture through her cultural foundation Hema Arangam. A senior disciple of Hemamalini Arni, Priya Premanand has danced for many sabhas in Hyderabad. She is the founder-director of Ananda Priya, a foundation to promote arts and the appreciation of arts.
