Each day starts at 3pm with workshops followed by interactions and ending with documentary film screenings that go on till later in the evening. Ringing in the celebration of art, the inaugural day performance will feature author William Dalrymple reading from his latest book ‘The Last Mughal’, while classical musician Vidya Shah renders her performance simultaneously.

The show, which is titled ‘Enter the Last Mughal’, will bring the bygone era of poets, emperors et al, back to life. Day two will see an interactive session with Orijit Sen, a graphic novelist and designer, who is currently doing a series on Hyderabad completing 425 years this year.

On the third day, one can look forward to the panel discussion on ‘Performance Art in India’. This talk will examine and provide a comprehensive understanding of performance arts; thus helping to locate avante-garde practices.

On the concluding day there will be a discussion titled ‘So Many Cinemas: do filmmakers have to be responsible to their audience?’ The panel includes actor Amol Palekar, sociologist Samuel Berthet, Selvaggia Velo and others. A Hindustani-Carnatic performance by sitarist Shujaat Khan and flautist Rasika Chandrashekhar will also be part of the final evening’s programme.

A co-organiser of the festival is France-based Selvaggia Velo, Founder and Director of River to River Florence Indian Film Festival has put together the documentary films that will be screened at Krishnakriti.

“This time we have tried to consciously make the festival younger. What’s more is that we have tried to stick to only one venue this time so as to make it more convenient for the audience to attend events on the same day,” said Prashant Lahoti at the press conference.

All the programmes will be held at Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Madhapur except for the final day’s 8:30 show, which will be held at Rock Heights, Shilparamam. The Festival is being held in association with The Botanika, Ford, GL Mandhani Trust and Telangana Tourism.
