TheTelangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender said that the government is working towards makig the Sate with 100 percent gas connections. The government is to allocote budgetary outlays for this, he added. He distributed 1,902 gas connections to poor women at Raja Raeshwari Kalyana Mandapam in Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) area on Sunday. Rajender oversaw the distribution.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “As part of making a smart, smokeless and keroseneless city, our government will extend benefit to all the poor people in Telangana to have gas connection to make the kitchen clean and neat and to avoid the traditional method of cooking on firewood and usage kerosene oil stoves.”

He appreciated the initiative taken up by Sada Keshava Reddy vice-president of SCB and their ward members for making cantonment smokeless. In addition, he assured members for providing additional ration shops in the cantonment area on need based requirement. “We are giving six kg rice per person on white card. In Aganwadis, for children, we are giving 30 eggs per child per month.

The govt. is also planning for construction of double bed room facility houses to poor people in cantonment area, within the target of one lakh double bedrooms,” he informed. Sada Keshava Reddy said, “Upto 37,000 people come under BPL. Of this, 30,000 are already covered with gas connection.” He hoped people to avail the opportunity and render good.
