As a part of the new house numbering system the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), the new house numbers beginning with ward number one was inaugurated by member one of SCB.

As a part of the new house numbering system the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB), the new house numbers beginning with ward number one was inaugurated by member one of SCB. The event was attended by the in-charge of new house allotment Parashuram, other staff members and local residents.

The entire new house numbering system that covers all the eight wards in the cantonment is first of its kind among all the sixty-two cantonments in India. The first new house number 01-01-011 was allotted to G Krishna Goud. During the programme Parashuram said that 33,000 properties exist in all the eight wards and today (i.e., Sunday) we started giving new house numbers to residential commercial properties separately and this new number allotment will be completed in three months, than the old numbers which were in use till now become obsolete.”

Stating the advantages of the new house number allotment he said, “With the new system there will be, easy assessment of tax, to give water connection, easy census, easy, election voting purpose, the existing property can be easily identified and there would be many other benefits.”

During the Nizam era to identify areas of the Britishers and their bazaars first house numbers were given to 16 bazaars, Bolarum Bazaar, Kawkoor Bazar, Ammugda Bazar, R A pension lines, Lalbazar, Gunrock Bazar, Karkhana Bazar, Tillery Bazar (mudford), Bearers lines (Sikh village), 108 bazar, Picket Bazar, Cavilary Bazar, Kadakpura Bazar pension-lines Tadbund Bazar and Gun Bazar.
