The action-packed 11-day extravaganza, under the aegis of Laser Class Association of India (LCAI) will bring together the finest of contemporary sailors from across the country and houses them till July 2.

Hyderabad Sailing Week-2016 will be a landmark one as it gets enhanced to a multiclass championship from the existing laser-class showpiece event, according to Lt Gen Gurmukh Singh, President of LCAI.

Competitions will be held for all senior and Olympic class boats like 470, RS: X, Hobie 16 and Enterprise Class along with the most popular Laser class sailed in all three versions.

Seasoned sailor and Vice-Commodore, EMESA, Maj Gen Sanjeev Khanna, said that “over a record 200 participants be in the running for eventual honours. The field is expected to be the largest for any senior class in the country”.

LCAI was founded in 1986 with a view to promote sailing in the country. Hyderabad Sailing Week is an annual feature organised by the LCAI. EME Sailing Association was formed in 1964. The sailing association has produced a No of medal winner both at international level.
