Savi Sharma, a Gujarat-based author, launched her latest book ‘This Is Not Your Story’, on Sunday at Landmark, Raj Bhavan Road. Hailing from Surat, Savi Sharma has left her CA to become a storyteller. In 2016, she wrote a book ‘Everyone Has A Story’. More than one lakh copies of this book were sold within four months and it became India’s fastest selling debut novel.

She also runs a motivational media blog ‘Life and People’, where she regularly writes about the law of attraction, positivity, spirituality, travelling and storytelling. Speaking with The Hans India, she shared about her works.

“Since my childhood, I was interested in writing. In my schooling, I used to participate in all kinds of writing competitions. When I left CA, my relatives and neighbours said that I would regret it. But I believed in myself and I started writing my first book. The stories in my books are the characters that I meet in my life. Most of the stories came from my friends and some reflect my own story also,” Savi Sharma said.

She self-published her first book ‘Everyone Has A Story’ and she faced many problems during the publication. Reacting to it, she said, “Self-publishing a book is like a one man army. It was a tough journey and we have to manage all things like marketing, promotion, distribution, etc and I guess I did well. Now my books are published by Westland Publications.”

About her latest book ‘This Is Not Your Story’, she said, “This book has three different stories. Shaurya, a CA student, who wants to fulfil his dreams to become a filmmaker; Miraya, an interior designer, is a story of believing in love; Anubhav, is a story of an entrepreneur. My vision is to inspire billions of people with my books. I think this success is just a beginning and I have to set the benchmark to reach more people in future.”

She said that movies are the best way of communication and she is also hoping that her books will materialise as movies. Speaking about her inspiration she shared, “I love the books of Paulo Coelho and Robin Sharma. Paulo Coelho is a great author; his works explain the deep meaning of life. I love his book ‘The Alchemist’, it is a simple but it gives great meaning. I am also planning my next book in the same genre (fiction). I will start writing my third book after completion of my 28 cities tour in May this year,” she concluded.
