A sense of poignancy and an overriding emotional atmosphere will prevail at the Sports Coaching Foundation (SCF) complex in Masab Tank when the 18th Boston Cup-2017 day and night cricket tournament begins on May 6.

Conceptualised and promoted with zeal by Mohd Shaker Ahmed, this will be the first tournament since the unfortunate demise of the Correspondent of the Kaley Pather, Tadban-based Boston Mission High School.

The late Shakir and SCF founder-Secretary K Sai Baba have collaborated for the hugely popular tournament for Under-12, 14 and 16 age-group boys since its inception.

According to tournament Secretary Mohd Firdous Shareef, they wished to perpetuate the memory of their founder Sir and keep alive his selfless and relentless promotion of sport, particularly in the Old City, where he ushered in a sports culture of the highest order.

It was his amiable persona that helped in bringing celebrities from various walks of life during the tournament. Firdous pointed out that several later day top grade performers have paraded their talent in Boston Cup, including the likes of N Arjun Yadav, AT Rayudu, T Suman, Mohd Siraj, to name a few.

This time around also top schools, clubs and academies will be fielding entries. Further details can be had from him on Tel Nos: 92463-62299/93965-59440.
