Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair (HJF 2017), the jewellery trade show of South India, commenced its tenth edition at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Novotel.

Hyderabad Jewellery, Pearl and Gem Fair (HJF 2017), the jewellery trade show of South India, commenced its tenth edition at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Novotel.

Special guests Jyotsna Shreshta, President, Nepal Gem and Jewellery Association, Michael Duck, Executive Vice President, UBM Asia, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India, Mahendra Tayal, President, Hitech City Jewellers Manufacturers Association (HJMA) and Mukesh Agarwal, Convenor, HJMA, inaugurated the three-day expo, (June 9 to 11) in the presence of other dignitaries from the jewellery trade.

A stunning array of Victorian, Nizam and Antique Jewellery collections, were displayed by over 35 manufacturers from the city and surrounding regions. Other highlights of the fair include a special miniature gallery, insightful technical seminars by Gem and Jewellery, Skill Council India (GJSCI) on ‘Skill Development’ (that helped artisans upgrade their professional knowledge) and Gemological Institute of America (GIA) on ‘Spotlight on Synthetics’.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) Seminar will be organised on June 10 from 11am to 2pm with Nitin Khandelwalji, Chairman, GJF as the Chief Guest. The interactive session on GST will be anchored by legal expert Rohan Shah, and a special note by. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India. The session will be followed by a live demo of new software, (ADHIGAM – is a software developed by TCS for GST).

Speaking on HJF 2017, Mahender Tayal said, “To mark the tenth edition of HJF, we are showcasing Ruby, Emerald studded jewellery with handmade filigree work. Since jewellery prices may increase due to three per cent GST on jewellery from next month, all the Retailers should take the benefit of the current tax slab for their stocks.

Speaking on their participation at HJF 2017, Mukesh Agarwal said, “This year, we are unveiling the latest collections in Junagadh jewellery, Pachi jewellery with Cubic Zirconia (C.Z), Ruby and Emerald."Speaking on their participation Suresh Jain, Chintamani Gold “Every edition of HJF provides us an opportunity to connect with all the local manufacturers and traders."

UBM has been an integral part of the jewellery industry for nearly three decades now, organizing similar renowned jewellery fairs worldwide. The fair drew a large number of buyers and sellers for the two-day fair last year.
