A 12 day Special National Integration Camp(SNIC) will start at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya(JNV),  Peddapuram said NCC Group Commander Colonel L Chandra Sekhar Naidu, in Kakinada on Thursday. Addressing a press conference he said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) was started in 1948 with an act of Parliament.

Addressing a press conference he said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) was started in 1948 with an act of Parliament.

Colonel further said that every year 6 SNIC camps are being conducted across India. Four SNIC camps are conducted in Indian mainland, and divided into Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions. The other two SNICs are conducted in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Naidu further informed that they are conducting the SNIC Camp every year here at Kakinada for Southern Region, it is a Pan India event he added. He said that 300 senior cadets are participating in the camp from all the 29 states and seven union territories.
Naidu also informed that this Kakinada Unit of NCC is one of the biggest units in India. This camp runs for 12 days and all these days the senior cadets will be taught training, Industrial visits and motivational lectures from famous persons from armed forces and from civil life. Naidu said that all the cadets visit the Reliance Thermal Power Plant at Samalkot on October 7, Reliance On Shore Gas Terminal at Gadimoga on October 8 and Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemical Plant on October 9 as a part of their Industrial learning. Colonel also informed that on October 11, two naval warships will arrive Kakinada port with a special permission from the Indian Navy. All the senior cadets will be taken to the Bay of Bengal for visiting the warships INS Gharial and INS Kamorta at Kakinada Port. This SNIC camp ends on October 16.
