Charminar: Hyderabad police have newly launched an anti-Barat Team in Old City. This team has been constituted to look after the dances during Marfa parties especially dancing in functions with knives & swords, on demand of local public. Police have noticed a few incidents when people were injured while enjoying themselves in the late night barat and some incidents noticed that guns were also used in the barat.

The South Zone police have been divided into two teams (with 20 policemen each) of ‘Anti-Barat Nuisance gang teams’. “On complaints of local public about existing rowdy activities, we have conducted this cordon operation. Rowdy activities will not be tolerated at any cost. Said DCP South Zone V. Satyanarayana while addressing the media after cordon search operation.

Providing details on the operation he said 300 policemen participated in this cordon search operation in the areas of Dal mandi,Allah masjid,Kishanbagh under Bahadurpura PS limits.

“40 vehicles which didn't have proper documents were seized and 38 suspects including 14 rowdy sheeters taken into custody. Four Daggers and few hukkah pots were seized. The Cordon search operation started at 7 am and was completed by 9 am. Addl.DCP Ghouse Moinuddin,ACP Charminar.Anjaiah,ACP Falaknuma Fayaz and all the inspectors of Charminar ACP zone and Falaknuma zone were present in cordon search operation.
