Demand for loans grows shriller
Hundreds of men and women protested in front of Hajj House on Monday. The protestors demands included loans, scholarships and sewing machines. Abdul Sattar, Awaaz Committee president said that last year the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced for minority loans and sewing machines for unemployed men and women but even after a year they are yet to receive.

During 2015-16 and 2016-17 period more than a lakh applied for loans but only 15,000 were sanctioned. Abdul Sattar said, “None of the applicants from training institutes in South Zone were given sewing machines.”
Rafi, a resident of Pisalbanda said, “We visited the Hajj Office at least 10 times in the last few months but the managing director of Minority Finance Commission is never available.” However, even as the protestors were raising slogans, Shafiullah, managing director entered the office and was greeted with high pitched slogans.
