Youth for Seva works for underprivileged children

Hyderabad: In order to facilitate the underprivileged children from urban slums and rural areas across India, a NGO named ‘Youth for Seva’ (YFS) have been reaching out all concerns to provide basic facilitates including education, destitute shelters and other facilities to the needful children around.

To enable education to the needy YFS has taken up an School Kit drive program which aims at providing new and quality education aid in the beginning of every academic year. They believe that a helping hand from the society will encourage the students in attaining education and arrest the school dropout rates.

Speaking to The Hans India a volunteer from Youth for Seva, Dheeraj Muramshetti said that School Kit campaign was started nearly five years ago, through this campaign the underprivileged children are given away a school kit free of cost which including school bag, pencil box, water bottle, 5 note books, label sheet and dictionary. He said that in the year 2015, the School Kit Drive was started by a group of full time coordinators from Youth for Seva. He also added that each school kit cost them around Rs 450 and the amount is funded by many private donors.

Dheeraj said “YFS Hyderabad invited all their volunteers to gather at and within 2 hours 300 volunteers were able to pack 6,000 School Kits. YFS volunteers along with full time coordinators personally visits the Government schools in and around Hyderabad and distributes the school kits. In rural areas YFS Hyderabad also distributed Solar Lamps to the students. In 2015, YFS reached out to 18,000 students in providing the school kits.

YFS Hyderabad has proactively worked to reach out to more number of students, especially in Nepal, Chhattisgarh and Orissa. With every Passing Year YFS is increasing its foot print towards reaching out more and more beneficiaries by involving more corporates and more volunteers”.
