Malkajgiri: Transactions worth crores take place in local sub-registrar office located in Vajpayeenagar of Vinayaknagar division, but it lacks adequate security.

This has been the worrying factor for the people who approach the office for meeting their various needs like land sale, plot registration. They feel the need for fixing CC cameras outside the office, as was assured by officials on February 1 last year.

Some residents told The Hans India that they feel unsafe in carrying huge amounts, which the office staff indicate to be remitted in banks. They point out if CC cameras are installed to record events outside the office they would feel safe and confident in effectively tackling monetary issues, while referring to the scope for snatching of money and documents by strangers.

If CC cameras are installed evidence of the offence can be obtained enabling the police to expeditiously and successfully complete the investigation, the residents said. CC cameras were installed on February 1 last year for recording the office proceedings. Officials then had assured that similar facilities would be installed outside, but they are yet to be made available, said document writer Krishna while speaking to THI.

He and other residents describe the government’s announcement that CC cameras are being installed as mere talk without taking necessary action. The residents assert that it is high time officials act on the assurance given last year.
