The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will award incentives to the best hotels which adhere to the specified measures and standards for preparation of Haleem and for maintaining hygiene during Ramzan.  

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will award incentives to the best hotels which adhere to the specified measures and standards for preparation of Haleem and for maintaining hygiene during Ramzan.

Mayor B Rammohan appealed all the hoteliers to take all precautionary measures and standards specified for preparation of Haleem for the ensuing Ramzan month. He said that the hotels which are being maintained properly during this Ramzan will be awarded incentives by the GHMC.

During a meeting with the hoteliers, he said the preparation of haleem should be done in hygienic conditions and the bhattis should be kept at the ground floor to ensure that structure of the building is safe. To avoid an traffic congestion, he asked the hoteliers to avoid encroaching upon footpaths and to provide sufficient parking near the hotel. He asked them to procure meat from the GHMC slaughter houses to ensure hygiene.

Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor appealed the hoteliers to join hands with GHMC towards maintaining proper cleanliness. He asked them to segregate wet and dry waste at their hotels. He said that officials may make random inspections of the hotels and those who will be found guilty of violating norms would be punished.

Additional Commissioners Sikta Patnayak, Sruthi Ojha, N Ravi Kiran interacted with the representatives of the hotels and requested them to cooperate in this endeavor. Dr Venkateshwar Reddy, Chief Veterinary Officer gave power point presentation about the precautionary measures to be taken while preparing haleem for the ensuing Ramzan.

Hotel Owners and representatives from Pista House, Bawarchi, Hyline, Café Bahar, Red Rose and Sri T Nagaraj, Telangana Hotels Association Chairman have also interacted with the officials. They assured to extend their full cooperation. AMOHs, Additional Directors Veterinary wing, Sanitary Field officials, Food Inspectors and senior officials from Health and sanitation wing were also present during the meeting.
