Disclosing this at a review meeting on Ramzan arrangements, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that elaborate arrangements were in place for the ensuing holy month of Ramzan. Road repairing, pot holes, streetlights, arrangements of temporary streetlights in lanes and by lanes for the convenience of the citizens in the areas where mosques are situated have been taken up.

The meeting was attended by Dr B Janardhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner, A K Khan, Advisor to Government, Minorities Welfare, besides several senior officials of the GHMC at its Head Office on Wednesday.
Mayor appealed to all the corporators to play a very vital role duly taking up responsibility for making the ensuing Ramzan festival arrangements, in a grand scale.

“After formation of the Telangana, the Government is celebrating almost all the festivals like Ramzan, Christmas, Bonalu duly taking lot of initiatives for the convenience of the citizens to celebrate the festivals irrespective of caste and creed,” he said.

He said that the State Government in coordination with Minority Commissions was going to distribute 2 lakhs gift packs to the poor Muslims from the community, as part of Ramzan celebrations in the Mosques in the GHMC limits. He asked the Corporators and Deputy Commissioners to engage themselves with active participation for this programme. “The corporators must coordinate with the concerned DCs for distribution of the gift packs to the concerned in a systematic manner near the Mosques,” he noted.

A K Khan, Advisor to the Government, Minorities Welfare interacting with the Corporators have assured them all necessary help will be given to them and as requested extra facilities like temporary lighting near the mosques lanes and by lanes will be taken care for smooth conduct of the ensuing festival.

Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor said that temporary lightings in lanes and by lanes additional vehicles for transportation of garbage, will be provided as per the suggestions of the Corporators and requested them to cooperate with the GHMC officials to make the arrangements for the ensuing Ramzan a grand success.

B Janardhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner said that from the last two months the GHMC has conducting regular meetings at the zonal and the circle level with the concerned Corporators for the works to be taken up for the ensuing Ramzan and also regularly conducting convergence meeting at both the circle and zonal level for proper coordination in making the festival grand

Zonal Commissioners Hari Chandana, Srinivas Reddy, Raghu Prasad, Shankaraiah, Shahnawaz Khasim, Director Minorities Welfare and other senior officials of the GHMC attended the meeting.
