Mallapur: There are close to 30 women groups who have availed DWCRA loans in Mallapur area and have been actively engaged in several small businesses. The women demanded a Mahila Bhavan in the area stating that it would be easy for them to conduct meetings.

Corporator Pannala Devender Reddy assured the construction of a Mahila Bhavan at the meeting of Samaikya-1 BC area mahila group here on Thursday. There are six divisions in Kapra and each one has 20-30 women groups with each consisting of 10 members.

Urmila, one of the members of Mallapur division, said, “Thanks to the loans, many women are now financially sound but there is a need for a separate hall to hold meetings and developmental activities.” The corporator urged the women to utilise government loans properly and pay back in time. Group president Urmila, secretary Parvin, vice-president Uppalamma, vice secretary Rukia Bhanu, treasurer Lakshmi were present.
