Narayanaguda: A five-day Arts and Crafts Expo was opened at Samdhata Arts Academy here on Sunday without any fanfare by prominent psychologist Vangipuram Srinivas Chary and ‘Fida’ fame Geeta Bhaskar. Chary lauded the academy for hosting the exhibition, while stressing on the need for everyone to develop expertise in arts and creativity.

‘By expressing our views regularly would pave the way for achieving a balance in a person’, he observed, while pointing out how communication media was taking the arts field forward. He stated that such exhibitions would create interest in arts in many persons. Academy managing director M Nagapraveena said that it was hosting many special awareness programmes for the benefit of interested persons, including students.

Geeta Bhaskar observed that the field of arts was getting closer to many persons as an effective medium. ‘It is providing an opportunity to show issues which can’t be disclosed to any person’. She pointed out that stress of education was increasing on students, with parents laying undue importance, without caring for inculcating creativity in them.

‘At least now there is a need for unearthing creativity in the students’, she said, adding that it was a matter of pleasure that Samdhata Academy was becoming a forum for both children and elders to display their creativity.
