Hi-tech city: In what can be termed as a novel initiative, the Ibis hotel in Hi-tech city is making the city folks to use the paper tea cups instead of using plastic tea cups. The paper tea cups are distributed by the Ibis hotel people often, in their vicinity. From, the tea vendors to the lane people around their hotel also who use plastic cups to dispense tea.

As the people think twice to even use the plastics these days, using plastic tea cups is hazardous to environment and health. Thus the idea of giving the free paper tea cups to the hotels surroundings is to make a change in the society. The Ibis Hyderabad team has contributed in their own little way over the last two years from which the free paper tea cups was on the top list.

This initiative was started from the month of April where the hotel management thought to not only makes a change in the hotel but also in the surroundings of the hotel. More than 4,000 of paper tea cups were distributed on the World Environment Day. The idea of this was decided by all the team member of the hotel.

The General Manager Rubin Cherian said, “My role is to facilitate the brilliant initiatives which my team brings together to help contribute to our community and environment for a better tomorrow.”

The tea vendor near the first lane of the hotel said, “The distribution of paper tea cups have started from last month and this was to make people aware of avoiding the plastic usage now and further, the hotel has provided us with the maximum number of paper tea cups which were used for us in many manner from selling the tea to helping people understand what it is to use the plastics much.”
