Medak: The traffic at Ramdas Circle comes to a grinding halt every now and then as the roads are narrow and people park vehicles on roads. With the lack of enough parking space and coupled with insensitive citizens, traffic woes have become a common feature.

Vehicles were parked on the either sides of the road which led to blockade the roads and causing inconvenience for pedestrians to walk even on the roadsides. Mainly at Ramdas circle near old-bus stop, people are driving on the wrong sides of the roads due to which the accidents are occurring more. “In solving traffic problem, the traffic department failed allege locals. From morning to evening near Ramdas Circle to Big Bazar road there is a lot of traffic.

In this area gold, Kirana and shopping malls are more, people not only from Medak town, but also from the nearer places also coming for the shopping and park their vehicles on the roads which lead to inconvenience for the people during the traffic hours. Commodities brought in heavy vehicles further lead to traffic woes, locals suggested to bring goods in mini-trucks to avoid/minimise the congestions.

“Two wheelers driving on the wrong side of the road is a major problem. There is an increase in such violation mainly because there is a general lack of traffic discipline. There should be stricter procedures for issuing driving licenses. This will help in bringing traffic discipline,” said Maduri Shekar Goud of Medak. Harish said “People are parking their vehicles where ever they want. Violators are not even bothered about the inconvenience that is caused to people.”
