Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) on Monday announced that DVS Raju, Chief Electrical Inspector (CEIG) conducted statutory inspection of Overhead Electric Traction System (OETS) between Panjagutta to LB Nagar Metro stations and accorded sanction for Energisation of OETS at 25kV AC.

The traction system is fed from the 132kV/25kV Receiving Substation (RSS) of the Hyderabad Metro Rail at MGBS. Incoming supply to this RSS is drawn from 220kV/132kV main substation of TS TRANSCO. Raju after conducting the inspection said, “Energisation of the OETS will facilitate movement of trains for trial runs from Ameerpet to LB Nagar (stage 5) and thereby connecting the entire corridor-I from Miyapur to LB Nagar.”

The stations in Ameerpet to LB Nagar section have got 33kV power supply sanction from CEIG between February 18 and May 18, thereby enabling illumination and functioning of lifts and escalators at Ameerpet interchange station.

“This is an important milestone for Corridor I. This corridor will also enable us to test other systems of the metro rail and thereby start trial run as per our commitment to complete all statutory requirements.” KVB Reddy, MD & CEO, LTMRHL.
